Detailed profiles of schools for Agricultural Supply from the EdRef college search portal.
Agricultural Supply programs focus on training students in the retail and wholesale trading sector of the agricultural industry. They prepare students for careers in agri-business sales, ownership, and management firms, as well as more specialized companies that sell products such as fertilizer or services such as pest management. Students learn emergency response, agricultural production, agricultural mathematics, soil science, animal husbandry, as well as general communication skills.
Most graduates work in some type of sales capacity after they graduate from the program. Many programs offer an internship component in which students work on a farm or other agricultural business to gain real-world, hands-on experience in the industry. Some students choose to specialize in food marketing systems, studying issues related to the development, advertising, distribution, and sales of agricultural products in the United States and around the world.
