Within the accounting field, the national median annual wage of an accountant or auditor was up to $61,690 in 2011, with the highest 10 percent earning up to $109,870 and the lowest 10 percent earning $39,640 nationally in 2011 (BLS.gov, 2012). The BLS also projects employment growth of up to 16 percent projected between 2012 and 2020.
