Detailed profiles of schools for Electromechanical Instrument Technology from the EdRef college search portal.
Electromechanical Instrument Technology programs train students to become technicians who work to integrate electronics with mechanical engineering and automatic control through research and development. Students study mechanical design and electronic technology while working to apply that technology with the use of computer applications. They also learn design and research methods relating to electromechanical engineering. Some of this work has to do with the management, maintenance, and disposal of modern ordnance equipment.
Some programs emphasize instruments and other measuring technology. This course of study combines electronic technology with optics, mechanics, and design. Graduates are prepared to take jobs where they install, design, and maintain complex electromechanical instruments and other equipment. They may work in the process control, automotive, textile, environmental control, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical industries. They are prepared to work in any field where there is a demand for workers familiar with the operation of electromechanical systems.
