Detailed profiles of schools for Biological And Physical Sciences from the EdRef college search portal.
Biological and Physical Sciences programs compose the two major categories of study in the area of the natural sciences. While there is much crossover and collaboration between the biological and physical sciences, they are both distinct disciplines at the same time. Biological science includes the disciplines of anatomy, biochemistry, experimental psychology, genetics, pathology, pharmacology, physiology, plant sciences, and zoology. Within biological science, there are three particular courses of study: whole-organism biology, cellular and molecular biology, and human biology.
Physical science includes the disciplines of applied mathematics, theoretical physics, astronomy, chemistry, earth sciences, geography, material science, physics, pure mathematics, and mathematical statistics. There are many joint degrees available, such as a degree in chemistry and environmental science. And some courses of study are designed to prepare students to enter graduate school or pursue certain professions.
