Health and Fitness programs provide students with instruction in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, and the exercise sciences. The courses are wide ranging, and give students the opportunity to develop their overall well-being while earning their degree. Students can prepare for careers in elementary and secondary education, coaching, recreational management, and the exercise sciences. Students also study anatomy, physiology, strength and conditioning, and sports psychology. Students are exposed to a vast array of physical exercises. They participate in lectures and laboratory classes, giving them a strong foundation in the field.

Students learn how to create basic physical and recreational activities. They learn to develop lesson plans based on public school standards of physical education. They also become familiar with the major health issues facing our society, particularly those likely to affect elementary and secondary school students. They develop an overall understanding of the anatomical, physiological, and kinesiological functions of the human body.
