Detailed profiles of schools for Cell Biology And Molecular Biology from the EdRef college search portal.
Cell Biology and Molecular Biology programs prepare students to become professional scientists by exposing them to the foundational principles of biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology. Students take a series of lectures, courses, laboratory research, and seminars. Study in this area can be divided into four distinct categories: cell structure, cell biology, neurobiology, and cancer biology. Some examples of specializations within the field include cell adhesion, developmental biology, immunology, membrane biology, genome biology, plant biology, RNA, and virology.
Graduates of these programs are able to pursue independent laboratory research or careers in the private sector. In either case, they are well prepared because they have developed their communication and research skills.
