General Physical Sciences programs provide students with training in such areas as biology, physical sciences education, chemistry, and environmental science. They give students a broad range of knowledge and skills in the area of the physical sciences. This course of study is ideal preparation for those interested in health-related professional programs, such as medicine, dentistry, clinical laboratory sciences, cytotechnology, dental hygiene, health information management, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, and veterinary medicine.
Students studying the physical sciences have the option of either pursuing a degree that covers a broad range of subjects or a degree that has a concentration in a particular subject. Students opting for the broad option take courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, physics, chemistry, vision science, statistics, engineering and computer science. Students opting for the concentration approach take courses in general physical sciences, but also focus on physics, chemistry, astronomy, geology, or computer science.
