Services Marketing programs learn to understand the complex problems facing the services marketing industry today and how to solve those problems. They learn the sills they need to succeed in a rapidly developing field. Students get learning assignments in which they are able to apply the principles and skills they have learned to pressing business-related problems. Students are challenged to go beyond their current level of knowledge and skill. They typically work closely with instructors and experience professionals to learn the critical skills they need.
Students learn to put themselves in the shoes of their customers and use that perspective to identify ways to effectively market services. There is a high level of practical, hands-on work in these programs, including analysis of price proposals, use of market based strategies, and utilization of gain-sharing techniques. They learn go-to-market strategies that are proven to work. Training is based on action and learning to deal directly with clients in order to identify their specific needs.
