Religious Education programs are designed to facilitate the professional and spiritual development of educational leaders. Students gain a deeper understanding of the educational mission of the Church. They take courses in such subjects as adult development and Christian life, leadership, organizational theory, church history, social mission of the Church, administration, covenant community, critical pedagogy, Christian theology, pastoral ministry, prayer, spirituality, and curriculum development.

Students in these programs learn critical and constructive theological reflection in relation to educational ministry. They study social and behavioral sciences and make connections between this knowledge and education. They learn about the cultural contexts of educational ministry and focus on their personal and spiritual growth. They learn to design, assess, and administrate educational programming that is relevant to their particular congregation or other religious institution.
