Detailed profiles of schools for Religious Music from the EdRef college search portal.
Religious Music programs allow students the opportunity to focus on performance and immerse themselves in an atmosphere of practice and applied study. Students often have access to a full range of music education resources, as well as the chance to take general education classes and participate in activities relating to the general university. Students attend music courses within a religious school and take liberal arts courses as well. They typically receive large amounts of individual attention from faculty and enjoy small class sizes.
Students in these programs can take courses in general music studies, music business, contemporary church music, composition, music education, and music performance. Students interested in music education can earn a bachelor of music education that allows them to teach elementary general music classes such as band, choir, or orchestra. Music therapy degrees are also available, allowing students to become registered music therapists in their States. Some students elect to pursue a degree like the bachelor of arts with a major in church music.
