Detailed profiles of schools for Theological And Ministerial Studies from the EdRef college search portal.
Theological and Ministerial Studies programs give students the opportunity to integrate such topics as theological reflection, congregational studies, supervised field ministry, spiritual formation, and academic theological education. The goal of these programs is to prepare them to become effective ministerial leaders and to function effectively in multicultural situations. Degrees are available for both those entering the field and for those already actively working in the field. Students get a solid foundation for theological ministry and develop skills that help them serve more effectively.
Students in these programs learn to articulate church doctrine, both in preaching and instruction. They gain the skills they need to plan and prepare worship and they undergo training in counseling and spiritual education. They learn to collaborate well with their peers as well as non-church-related individuals and groups. They develop a commitment to lifelong study and learning around church doctrine. They also learn how to better integrate spiritual teachings into their own lives.
