Founded in 1970, Akron Institute is a small school of over 200 students located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Cuyahoga Falls is a 10 minute drive north of Akron, Ohio, and a 40 minute drive south of Cleveland, Ohio's second largest city. Akron Institute is known for its diploma and associate's degree programs in allied health, information technology, and administration, that quickly help graduates to begin new, rewarding, and challenging careers. Externships are also an integral part of every program at the Akron Institute allowing students an opportunity to hone their skills while acquiring valuable industry experience. Many of the externships lead directly to permanent employment for students.
Akron Institute has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education allowing eligible students to receive federal aid such as Pell Grants.
