California Lutheran University (CLU) was founded in 1959. CLU is a school of over 3,100 students located Thousand Oaks, California. CLU also has other locations in Oxnard, Ventura, and Woodland Hills, California. The mission of California Lutheran University is to educate leaders for a global society who are strong in character and judgment, confident in their identity and vocation, and committed to service and justice.
California Lutheran University was ranked 16th on the U.S. News & World Report list of top schools in the West in its "America's Best Colleges 2006" report.
California Lutheran University offers undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs through its three schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, and the School of Education. In addition, California Lutheran University offers an Adult Degree Evening Program (ADEP) that was designed for students over 25. CLU's Center for Continuing and Professional Education also provides opportunities for continued learning through programs that are not normally part of either an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Formal admission to CLU is not required for enrollment in continuing education and professional programs.
