Founded in 1881, Central Pennsylvania College (CPC) is a school of over 800 students located in Summerdale, Pennsylvania. Summerdale is a suburb of Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania, located in the central part of the state. CPC is a career-oriented residential college that awards associate's and bachelor's degrees in a broad range of disciplines. Central Penn specializes in providing an affordable, hands-on education that prepares graduates for career success. Some programs can be completed in less than two years, and a Bachelor's Degree can be completed in three. In addition, CPC now offers evening information technology certification courses. Central Pennsylvania College also has an Australia term abroad program where students live, travel, and study for 11 weeks in Australia.
Central Pennsylvania College has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education allowing eligible students to receive federal aid. Additional aid options open to students of CPC include: grants, loans, scholarships, state aid, and student employment. Central Pennsylvania College is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. CPC is also approved by the Secretary of Education, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to award the Bachelor of Science degree, the Associate in Science degree, and the Associate in Applied Science degree. Program specific accreditations and approvals include: the Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO), the American Bar Association (ABA), the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), and the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (CAPTE/APTA).
