Founded in 1978, the Court Reporting Institute (CRI) is a multi-campus school of over 1,000 students with locations in Dallas, and Houston, Texas. CRI is part of Vatterott Education Centers, Inc. Vatterott Education Centers, Inc. operates over 18 colleges in the United States and offers programs from the diploma level to the bachelor's degree level.

The Court Reporting Institute offers associate degree programs in reporting. Programs are offered both full-time during the day, and part-time, in the evening. This course scheduling flexibility makes it easier for individuals with substantial work and life obligations to obtain the education necessary to start a new career as a court reporter.
