Illinois School of Health Careers Description

Founded in 1990, the Illinois School of Health Careers (ISHC) is a school of over 300 students with two locations in Chicago, Illinois. The mission of the Illinois School of Health Careers is to provide quality educational and training opportunities to those individuals seeking the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the allied health or computer professions.

The Illinois School of Health Careers specializes in providing training for entry-level careers in health Care. ISHC offers health care career training in four in-demand fields of study, including: medical assisting, dental assisting, massage therapy, and phlebotomy. All programs are short in duration and provide extensive hands-on training. Classes are taught by instructors who are trained professionals in their field.

The Illinois School of Health Careers offers the following student services: career services, a student orientation, and student counseling services. In addition, ISHC also offers an online form for individuals to request, at no obligation, more information about their allied health programs. The Illinois School of Health Careers has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans).
