Jones International University Online Description

Founded in 1993, Jones International University Online (JIU) was the first university to exist entirely online. JIU also became the first fully online university to be accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Jones International University is an institution of higher education that offers courses and degrees of high quality at undergraduate and graduate levels through sound curricula, innovative delivery of instruction through technology, and a commitment to relevant, readily available, and student-centered service for a geographically dispersed adult student body.

Jones International University Online offers credit courses, non-credit courses, certificates, and degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. JIU Online offers over 30 programs that grant certificates, bachelor's, and master's degrees. All programs are delivered totally online. Everything a student needs to earn a degree is online and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This kind of flexibility makes it easy for individuals with substantial work and life commitments to obtain the education they need to start a new career or to further an existing career.

Jones International University Online has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans). Additional aid options open to qualifying students of JIU include employer tuition assistance programs, grants, loans, work/study programs, scholarships, and Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits.

Jones International University Online is one of four schools chosen to participate in Operation Enlightened Warrior, a comprehensive education and training program tailored to the needs of the military and civilian members of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM). JIU offers scholarships to military personnel and dependents and accepts military tuition assistance and the GI Bill.
