Kaplan offers over 80 online programs of study through its eight schools - Arts and Sciences, Business, Criminal Justice, Education, Technology and Design, Nursing and Health Care, Paralegal Studies, and Continuing and Professional Studies. Some programs can be completed in as little as 9 months.

Kaplan University gives students the control to schedule their own education. Students can "attend" classes anytime, anywhere on a 24/7 schedule. Kaplan online programs feature: online quizzes, message boards, web field trips, interactive seminar sessions, instructors with real world experience, and a full a complement of library services through its relationship with UAH Salmon Library at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama. With Kaplan's online programs, it could not be easier for individual with substantial work and life obligations to obtain the education that they need to start on a new career or further an existing career.

Kaplan University has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans). Additional aid options open to qualifying students of Kaplan University include employer tuition assistance programs, grants, loans, work/study programs, scholarships, and Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits.
