The Medical Careers Institute (MCI) is a school of over 1,000 students across three campuses in Virginia. MCI is committed to providing the people, environment, and equipment needed to keep students in step with the demands of today’s workplace.
The Medical Careers Institute offers seven different programs of study in high demand medical fields. All MCI programs feature small class sizes, hands-on learning, state-of-the-art labs, and faculty with real-world experience. In addition, MCI offers the convenience of day and evening classes. This flexibility makes it easy for individuals with substantial work and life commitments to obtain the education necessary to start a new career or to further an existing career.
The Medical Careers Institute offers the following student services: advising services, employment services, a learning resource center, library services, orientation services, and technology services such as e-mail services and online grades and schedules that can be accessed on and off campus. In addition, MCI also offers an online form for individuals to request, at no obligation, more information about their innovative programs. The Medical Careers Institute has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans). Additional aid options open to qualifying students of MCI include grants, loans, military tuition assistance, scholarships, state aid, work/study programs, and Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits.
The Medical Careers Institute is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). The medical assisting programs in are accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Medical assisting program graduates are eligible to sit for the AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examination. In addition, graduates of the massage therapy program are eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam offered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work.
