The Medix School is committed to training students in the medical and dental fields. The school was founded in 1969, and today it is a certified allied health training institution offering career-oriented programs that result in successful healthcare careers. Students have the opportunity to enroll in hands-on, practical programs taught by dedicated, experienced faculty who can help them enter a career that is growing rapidly.
The Medix School is located in Smyrna, Georgia, and is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). The Medical Assistant Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The program in Dental Assisting is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
The Medix School attracts students who have made the decision that they want to be involved in the medical or dental fields. All Medix courses are designed to help students move toward these goals. The school undertakes surveys of the medical and dental industries in order to keep their programs up to date. All programs include a four week Externship in which students have the opportunity to gain practical work experience in a real-world environment.
The mission of The Medix School is to help students acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in a variety of dental and medical office procedures and laboratory techniques.
There are a number of financial aid programs available to students at The Medix School. Those who qualify can receive various amounts and types of aid depending on their individual financial need. The application procedures are nationally standardized. Students who are eligible may receive Federal Pell Grants, Federal Subsidized Stafford Students Loans, Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, Federal PLUS Loans, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants.
