The Pittsburgh Technical Insititute (PTI) was founded in 1946. It is a school of over 1,000 students in three locations around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Campus locations include downtown Pittsburgh, Cranberry Township, and Oakdale.

The Pittsburgh Technical Insititute offers career-focused programs that are designed to meet the needs of individuals seeking an associate in science degree. Busy adults can select from shorter, evening certificate programs. Some degree offerings are available in an on-site/on-line format that blends flexible learning with classroom instruction making it easy for busy working adults to get the education they need to start a new career or further an existing career.

The Pittsburgh Technical Insititute offers certificate, certification, and associate degree programs in over 14 high-demand areas of study. Certificate programs can be completed in as little as 9 months. Associate degree programs can be completed in as little as 24 months.

The Pittsburgh Technical Insititute offers the following student services: alumni services, career placement services, free "brush-up" classes for alumni, school-sponsored housing, student activities, and student organizations. In addition, PTI also offers an online form for individuals to request, at no obligation, more information about their innovative programs. The Pittsburgh Technical Insititute has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans).
