Potomac College Description

Potomac College was founded in 1991. Potomac College is a school of over 300 students across two campuses in Washington DC and Herndon, Virginia. The philosophy of Potomac College is to address the needs and learning styles of the adult learner. Potomac works to create an environment appropriate for the needs of adult learning.

Potomac College offers six bachelor degree programs in management and information systems. Potomac College offers courses evenings and Saturdays, making it easy for individuals with substantial work/life obligations to get the education they need to start a new career or further an existing career. Individuals who have met prerequisites for previous college course work can complete Potomac bachelor degree programs in as little as 18 months.

Potomac College offers comprehensive student services through its Department of Student Services. In addition, Potomac also offers an online form for individuals to request, at no obligation, more information about their innovative programs. Potomac College has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans). Additional aid options open to qualifying students of Potomac include grants, loans, scholarships, and work/study programs.

Potomac College is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). In addition, Potomac College is an accreditation candidate with the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
