South University was was founded in in 1899 as Draughon's Practical Business College in Savannah, GA. It is now a multi-campus institution with four campuses in the southeastern United States. South University is dedicated to academic excellence and has built a reputation for helping bright, inquisitive people reach their true academic potential.

South University now offers five bachelor degree programs including an RN-to-BSN degree program entirely online. The online programs provide the same individual support, academic standards, and experienced faculty that students find when they attend South University's campus courses.

With South University's online courses, students have the freedom to attend classes anytime, from anywhere, entirely online. This flexibility makes it easy for an individual with significant work/life commitments to quickly obtain the education necessary to start a new career or further an existing career.

South University has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans). South University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the American Physical Therapy Association, Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
