Thompson Institute Description

Founded in 1918, the Thompson Institute is a multi-campus school located in Pennsylvania that serves over 1,400 students. The Thompson Institute is committed to preparing students for the careers they want and the lives they deserve.

The Thompson Institute offers programs that emphasize hands-on training that is relevant to employers' needs, focusing on areas that offer strong employment opportunities. Thompson offers programs of study in allied health, business, criminal justice, technology, and the trades. In total, Thompson offers over ten programs of study. All programs feature small class sizes, experienced instructors, and industry-specific equipment.

The Thompson Institute offers the following student services: alumni services, career services, clubs, day care services, and tutoring and mentoring services. In addition, Thompson also offers an online form for individuals to request, at no obligation, more information about their innovative programs. The Thompson Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award diplomas. The Thompson Institute/Philadelphia Campus, Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAMAE). In addition, Thompson is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools, Pennsylvania Department of Education.
