Walden University Description

Founded in 1970, Walden University is a school of over 13,000 students. Walden University is an institution that offers advanced degrees online to professionals who work to make a difference in the lives of children, the health of a community, or the success of an organization. The mission of Walden is to provide a diverse community of career professionals with the opportunity to transform themselves as scholar-practitioners so that they may transform society.

Walden University consists of five schools - the School of Education, the School of Health and Human Services, the School of Management, and the School of Psychology. Combined, these schools offer one online bachelor degree program, 16 online master degree programs, and 13 online doctoral degree programs. The flexibility of online programs makes it easier for students with significant work and life commitments to obtain the education that they need to start a new career or further an existing career.

Walden University offers the following student services: alumni services, a bookstore, concierge customer service, academic advising, disability services, a library, a student union, tutoring services, and a writing center. In addition, Walden also offers an online form for individuals to request, at no obligation, more information about their innovative online programs. Walden University has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans). Walden University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. Walden also holds numerous other program-specific accreditations and approvals.
